Closure Of Hostels Opposed Guntur District Of 28 Government Hostelson Wednesday demanding cancellation of proposal of closing 28 SC welfare hostels in Guntur district. PDSO leaders alleged that the government is trying to restrain the poor students from getting education.

Hence, it was clos ing the hostels. PDSO state secretary Sk Baji Saida expressed fear that the government aim-ed to privatise education system which would bar the poor and suppressed communities from getting education despite the Constitu-tion providing education as a right to the public.
Closure Of Hostels:
He alleged that the gov. ernment has decided to close 310 SC hostels in 13 districts of AP in which 28 were in Guntur district. He feared that 1,424 students staying in these hostels would be barred from education due to closure of hostels in Guntur district.
He demanded the government to cancel the decision of hostel closure with immediate effect. PDSO district president B. Nagabasavaiah lamented that the government offers accommodation to students in tiny rooms without basic amenities but the students of poor and Suppressed communities tried to get education in the deplorable conditions. He said that the government Would have to renovate the hostels but sadly it is closing hostels forcing students on to the roads.
