The CM said that it is very important to make up for the revenue losses incurred because of the bifurcation and put appropriate measures in make to fulfill this. During the year 2016-17 up to March 2017, the total revenue realized by the commercial tax department is R33,566.65 CrOre with a growth rate of 12.29%. The prohibition and excise department achieved a growth rate of 5.88% and has earned revenue of R4,644.45 crore for the year 2016-17.


Negative growth rate was registered in the departments of registration, stamps and forest. In comparison to the previous year, the growth rate fell by 4.01% in revenue from Stamp duty and registration, said the CM and added that likewise, negative growth rate of 49.29% was seen in the forest department. The land revenue department’s growth rate is 17.33% and has earned revenue of R2679Ocrore, The revenue achievement in the transport department is R2,463.21 crore and the growth rate achieved is 15.71%.
