GUNTUR: The locals of Suddhapalli in Chebrolu mandal opposed the digging of a pond ijn their village. They fear about inundation of the farmlands due to the digging and demanded that it be stopped. They alleged that the Telugu Desam leaders had planned to sell the clay from the pond With the help of the police.
EXCAVATION OF POND OPPOSED
YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Suddhapalli to interact with the locals. The locals alleged that quarrying of clay was being carried out in the dried up Water pond and started a relay hunger fast for the past three days in the Village demanding to stop the digging. The locals alleged that deep pits had formed due to quarrying for the past one year and many people had fallen into those pits during rains and drowned.
They alleged that the TD leaders, with the help of the ministers and legislators, are continuing the quarrying in the pond by deploying policemen, which was unjustifiable, They alleged that the TD leaders and police are not allowing Suddhapalli sarpanch P. Jyothi there and foisting atrocity cases against the public. They alleged that MLA D. Narendra Kumar’s brother is threatening to kill them by throwing them beneath of earth movers and cranes.
